If you like sweet romances with a quirky main character and a HEA ending, all set in an idyllic town during Christmas, then The Christmas Yes List by Melissa Ferguson is the book for you.

Chloe Hollis is done bending over backwards for people, pushing those around her forward while she is left watching them go. One self-help book later, she is on her way to becoming a stronger and more determined woman. Or at least she thinks so, until she meets James, who is ruining her goal to get ten “no” answers to her requests before Christmas.

Even picking the strangest activities can’t sway James from saying yes to each request, including a very strange shopping trip and camping in the dead of winter. She finds herself falling for him, but convinces herself that there is a reason he keeps saying yes, and she is determined to find out what it is.

This story was sweet and wholesome, with a bit of hilarity thrown in for good measure. I ended up liking James’ character quite a bit more than Chloe’s, and I enjoyed the premise that a self-help book led to their meet-cute. While it does follow quite a few romance tropes, it is still an entertaining read.

The Christmas Yes List was a fun, lighthearted Christmas romance that made for an easy and enjoyable read. The quirky situations, small-town setting, and feel-good romance give it that cozy holiday atmosphere, and the story delivers the kind of happily-ever-after that romance readers look forward to. If you’re looking for something sweet and festive to curl up with during the Christmas season, this one is worth adding to your reading list.
