Review Policy

My reviews are from my personal perspective. I am an avid reader of almost every genre (exceptions listed below). As a person who likes to read for fun, my reviews are written in a very informal and friendly fashion. I try not to be critical regarding the contents and quality of the book because everyone has their tastes in what they like in a novel. For that reason, I do not use star ratings. Spoilers are kept to a minimum (if any) and are only used to clarify my opinion or explain a point I may be making. If there are any spoilers, they will be called out at the beginning of a review.

  • Graphic: I use an embedded graphic with the cover of the book.
  • Title: Review | <title book> by <name author> (Name series #)
  • Little introduction of the post and book: A catchy opening sentence to attempt to pull a reader in. This element may vary.
  • Body of the review: The body consists of my thoughts on the book, which is often, but not limited to, a combination of my thoughts on the plot, characters & their arcs, the writing, what did or did not work for me, and anything else relevant.
  • Conclusion: A small wrap-up about the most noteworthy parts of the book and my thoughts, whether I recommend it or not, and whether I would read more books in the series/by the author.
  • Disclaimers: If I have received a book for free for reviewing purposes, I always state this at the end of the review. I also include that my reviews are my own, even though I received the book for free, and note the publisher, author, and if I received the book from a specific site for review. I aim for honesty and transparency on my blog.

Things to Keep in Mind:

  • If you have a book that needs to be reviewed and it’s not on one of my listed genres of what I like (and it’s not a part of what I don’t like), you are more than welcome to contact me, and I’ll offer to review it at my discretion.
  • I cannot review every book that I receive, and when I do review books, I try to schedule at least one review a week. If your book is an upcoming release and I decide to read it, please mention in your request whether or not you’d like my book review to be posted the week of the book’s release or the week before.
  • I will still post your book review even if I didn’t like the book and will keep the review as professional as possible

How to Contact Me:

Please contact me via my contact form here with the subject line ‘’Review request: [book title] by [author]’’ and include the following information:

  • Book synopsis/description.
  • Name of the series (if applicable)
  • Genres/subgenres
  • Publisher
  • Any content and trigger warnings applicable
  • Publication date
  • Preferred deadline or timeframe for the review.

Turnaround Time:

I have a turnaround time of at least four weeks after receiving the book. This is the absolute minimum I can do, with few exceptions. When requesting, please keep this turnaround time in mind in regard to possible US shipping times. If I feel I can’t meet the deadline in a timely manner, I will let you know.

Fees:

I do not charge any fees for reviews at this time. But if I am reviewing an ARC digitally, I would love a hard copy of the book for my library, when released 😊.
